James M. Castro, CPA - Partner
Jim had the opportunity to work two busy seasons as an intern at Ernst & Young while he attended Assumption College. After graduation, Jim continued his career with Ernst & Young by joining their audit department. He enjoyed the Big Six (four) experience but in 1996 he returned to Attleboro and the firm his father started. E&Y gave Jim a great background and education but he truly enjoys working with local small businesses and individuals as a most trusted advisor. At the local level Jim can guide individuals and businesses through life changing events and enjoy lasting relationships.
Being local has also offered him the opportunity to be involved in the community. In addition to church, school and sports activities with his family, Jim has served with many generous individuals on a number of non-profit boards. He has volunteered in various capacities with the local United Way, Visiting Nurse Association, Bishop Feehan High School, the Volterra Foundation and Abundant Hope. Our firm also serves as auditors and accountants to a number of local not for profit organizations. Jim currently serves on the Attleboro Retirement Board.
In addition to his Massachusetts and Rhode Island CPA license, he holds a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning designation through The National Institute for Excellence in Professional Education, LLC. Jim works on estate tax planning and tax preparation for firm clients.
